At the beginning of my wedding photography career, a question I asked myself about was this:
Who do I photograph a wedding for? The participants?
After having explored thoroughly with myself the reasons that made me choose to become a wedding photographer, I thought that one of the answers could be this:
Not really or at least, not entirely. I record these events for those that weren’t there or those yet to come, so for me Wedding Photography is to leave something tangible for the couple but also for those the couple love.
Then my suggestion to you is: you can have many great photographs of you as a couple, of your guests and friends, but do not forget to have also your family photographs taken at the wedding. It doesn’t matter if you like wedding reportage photographs or posed wedding photographs, the crucial thing is to take them and to do it as you should, hire a professional photographer.

Yes, I’m a wedding photographer in Italy, but here you can see me as a person, before all, this is me, without masks, as I think it is right when I introduce myself.

How I work during a wedding day

I carry out my wedding session using almost exclusively reportage style (90%). In this way, which does not include old posed photos, I try to tell every moment of the day in natural and spontaneous ways. I always try to be as unobtrusive as possible to avoid forcing the unfolding situations.

During the day I need (and I love) to execute a little portrait session with the couple, but we will strive only for a few minutes, about 20/30.

If necessary we will be two wedding photographers and we will start the service from the preparation of both bride and groom if is possible. For the bride, I also like to take some shots of her makeup and dressing up moments.

At the end of the preparations, if there will be a small reception before the ceremony, we will perform some shots to the guests present.

The service continues with the complete coverage of the ceremony and reception (according to the hours purchased).

I don’t have special requirements to realize my wedding photography services, but if the couple has any special request, they have to tell me about it, without any problem. For example, a friend with whom you absolutely want a picture? Please let me know. Just to clarify one point: the reportage style can not guarantee the presence of everyone in the photographs, it is practically impossible, so if you absolutely want the photo with parents or grandparents or other people, you have to tell it to me during the wedding day.
Of course, I’ll be happy to fulfill this wish.

WHICH IS YOUR STYLE?

DO YOU WORK ONLY IN BRESCIA?

No, I can travel all over Italy and abroad to meet your requests. Of course, travel costs (fuel, highway and the hotel if necessary) and the fact that a marriage outside the region may result in a commitment of several days, can affect costs, sometimes significantly.

HOW CAN WE BOOK YOU FOR OUR WEDDING DAY?

You can contact me at wedding @ gbfotografia.com, using the form on the Contact Us page or directly by telephone at the numbers you find on the site. Then, if possible, we will fix a meeting, where it most suits you (in my studio or at your at home or at a hotel), during which we’ll go through all the proposals. If you decide to hire me as a photographer, I will write a contract that certifies and guarantees your choices and I’ll ask you to sign a contract.

HOW MANY MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING SHOULD WE CONTACT YOU?

It’s always difficult to answer this question because every year there are dates which are extremely requested and others which are less. If you will marry in June or July I would recommend you to contact me at least 6 months before. Of course, I am referring to weddings on Saturday and Sunday, for weekdays you can decide at the last moment.

WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A LITTLE TIME TO DECIDE, YOU CAN TAKE NOTE OF THE DATE AND ADVISE US IF ANOTHER COUPLE IS INTERESTED IN THE SAME DATE?

I’m sorry but this is not possible. I receive many requests and it would be impossible for me to take note of all the dates and then having to contact all the undecided again. This is possible if the couple needs 7/8 days to decide, after which I consider the date free, priority will be given to the couple who first signs the contract.

PICTURES WE HAVE SEEN ON YOUR WEBSITE ARE TAKEN BY YOU OR ARE THERE PICTURES TAKEN BY YOUR CO-WORKERS?

There is not one picture on my website that has not been designed, performed, produced exclusively by me. Co-workers, when presents, help me and run their own shots, but I do not publish their photos on my website, no matter how well they are made. This because you have to be able to really evaluate my personal skills. Unfortunately, not all photographers have the same opinion and they put into their personal website’s photos made by others, I find this attitude extremely unfair.

THE PICTURES MADE USING REPORTAGE STYLE ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL BUT I’VE NOTICED THAT YOU DON’T TOUCH UP NEITHER WRINKLES NOR THINGS LIJE THAT …AS I DON’T LIKE MYSELF IN PICTURES COULD YOU RETOUCH THEM JUST A LITTLE?

Not being a photo shoot in the studio or fashion shooting, normally I do not do touch-ups photographs, except in special cases, usually only for the bride and groom. (A damn pimple that sticks right on the evening before the wedding day for example)

WHO WILL SELECT THE PICTURES? HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE THE PREVIEWS?

Generally, after 5/6 weeks, I will be able to provide the files, if is not a very busy period. In more intense periods the wait can be up to 3 months. The choice of shots to be edited is made by me, but not because I’m selfish, simply because I believe that it’s the “writer” who should tell the story, not the characters.

MAY WE CHOOSE A PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM?

Of course, I propose a wide range of photo books and more traditional albums. Usually, they are not very big format, I prefer smaller ones, 35x25cm and 30x30cm. You can choose, as far as the traditional album is concerned, also the type of print that most suits your tastes, including fine art printing, which is a type of printing on top quality cotton paper.

WHAT IS  THE DELIVERY TIME OF THE ALBUM?

In normal working conditions I try to deliver the album within, at most, 3/4 months from the wedding, often before (depends on many factors which I will explain in person).

HOW CAN WE HAVE THE ORIGINAL FILES OF THE WEDDING?

The price of the service always include all the shots processed in high resolution, plus all the shots not chosen, always at full resolution.
